We are pleased to announce the second exhibition at “VINYL UNDERGROUND GALLERY,” which opened in Minami-Senba, Osaka, in July: “Some girls are bigger than others,” featuring TAM, Takafumi Tsuji, and Keisuke Masuda.

Texture, color, styling… Enjoy portraits of women, each with their own unique personalities, created by three male artists—including creators who participated in the Osaka-based “Different Kyomachibori Art Fair.” On the opening night, we will hold an information session and portfolio review for the “Different Kyomachibori Art Fair.”

TAM

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture. A painter of beautiful women based in Osaka. She explores the allure and strength of women, as well as the beauty that emanates from within, expressing the hidden emotions and thoughts behind their ecstatic expressions.

Takafumi Tsuji

Born in Yamanashi in 1985; currently based in Okayama. He attempts to reconstruct portraiture in the age of AI. Rather than depicting specific individuals, he uses AI to generate “average faces that belong to no one,” then intervenes by hand with brushstrokes and color to create his works. He questions the very meaning of “painting a portrait.”

Keisuke Masuda

Born in Tokyo in 1981. He paints portraits of women living in the modern era using watercolors and colored pencils. His recent works mark a new direction, combining models he has photographed himself or images found online—styled by the artist—with landscapes of clouds, mountains, and cityscapes to create fictional characters.
