Chignitta will hold a solo exhibition by Kanagawa Prefecture-based artist and illustrator Mayumi Oku starting July 26 (Sat). This is her first solo exhibition in Osaka in 18 years since “digmeoutART&DINER” in Amerikamura. Please enjoy her fun works on the themes of storytelling and aminism, using the technique of paper prints. The opening event will include a live performance by Yoshinori Aoki (ex.HARCO), a musician who has known Ms.Oku for 20 years.

Mayumi Oku
Artist, Illustrator
Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1976. After working at a graphic design office, she started her creative activities in 2002. She has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions. She has participated in artist-in-residence programs in Mexico and Mie, and has also held workshops, live paintings, and public productions. He has been working on a wide range of media including painting, installation, sculpture, and zines, and has also produced a handmade picture book “Hako” in 2020 and “Peanut Buta-san” (YOMO) in 2022, as well as a picture book. In recent years, he has been creating works and holding workshops using the collagraph (print on paper) technique.

Singer-songwriter Yoshinori Aoki (ex.HARCO), who has been a friend of Yumi Okuma for 20 years, held a joint exhibition of music and paintings at Shinsaibashi dig me out ART&DINER in 2007. This time, Aoki appeared at the opening event of his first solo exhibition with Yumi Okuma in the Kansai region in 18 years. This will be Aoki's first solo live performance in Osaka in seven years!
<Yoshinori Aoki Profile>
Aoki made his major debut in 1993 at the age of 17 as a drummer in a band, and from 1997 to 2017 he worked as a singer-songwriter under the name HARCO. For about 25 years, he has always been active in a wide range of activities, including music production, singing, and narration for TV commercials, as well as music production and sound installation for movies, plays, TV programs, and institutions. 2024 October, he established tobiuo studio LLC, which operates agent production, music label, and cultural media.
