Cignitta will be hosting a solo exhibition by Tokyo-based artist Emi Imazeki.
In these uncertain times, I pursue my own reality.
An artist who captures moments that everyone else would otherwise overlook in his paintings
This is Emi Imazeki's first solo exhibition in Osaka.
Pat Metheny Group's song "Last Train Home"
Inspired by the theme "What you remember when you go back to your true home"
I will depict the scenery I saw while traveling or scenes that fit the season.
Gallery talk and reception: August 24th, from 4pm.
Last Train Home
Painting is like looking back on a long journey.
When I heard the song "Last Train Home" by the Pat Metheny Group,
During a long journey, I watch the scenery passing by from inside the train.
I had the impression that I was watching.
As you were creating the piece, what were the feelings and sensations you had during your trip?
It becomes more and more distant and becomes a whole new way of being.
That's my true home when I return from a long journey.
The theme is "What you remember when you go back to your real home".
I created scenes based on the scenery I saw while traveling and scenes that are appropriate for this time of year.
